I have now been 40 for 24 days. When people look at me I want them to say, “40—NO WAY!” So here is my workout plan. I will be listing them daily, except for the days I rest.
Today’s workout started at 5:45am. I stretched and then ran on the treadmill with an average incline of 1.5 and a speed of 5.8 for 50 minutes, totaling 4.25 miles. Within that time I walked backwards 6 minutes. Walking backwards is such a great bun workout. And you know, to not look your age you have to have a rock-hard ass! The cardio part of my workout burned about 600 calories. Then it was on to weight training. I do different body parts on different days, to was chest.
Incline Dumbbell press 4 sets, 15 reps each with 15lb weights
Incline Dumbbell Fly 4 sets, 15 reps each using 12 lb weights
Incline cable crossover 4 sets, 10 reps each with a weight of 35lbs
Low cable crossover I only had time for 1 set of 16 with 20 lb weights
I rest when needed. I have been training for 2 years now. When my heart rate goes below 100 I do some quick cardio to up it, during my rest period. Today my quick cardio was jumping jacks on the mini tramp for 60 counts 2 times, plus I did an ab bicylce for 90 seconds on the mini tramp. Boy did that burn my abs today. I ended the workout burning 928 calories in 1 hour and 28 minutes.
Easter candy nibbling has brought my weight up so I am replacing the candy nibbling with gum chewing. I am on my 5th stick of gum for today and my tummy is hungry!
